Is it go, or no?

Are you facing a critical life decision right now? If not, just wait because life is full of them. Whether it has to do with a relationship, job, education, health, future, you name it, there is no shortage of major decisions in life. Jesus knew that, which must have been why he taught us to pray, “Thy will be done.” (Matthew 6:9) This phrase was one of the first in the model prayer He taught His disciples.

Can you pray “Thy will be done” and really mean it? Most of us like the sound of that as long as it fits our plans, dreams, agenda… but are you willing to trust God’s lead? The bible tells us: 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Ephesians 5:17. It is wise to pursue and understand God’s will! So how can I know His will?

  • Admit that I need God’s guidance. Psalm 25:9

  • Ask in faith for God’s direction. Matthew 7:7; James 1:5-6

  • Listen for God’s response.

  • Trust God when I don’t understand. Proverbs 3:5-6

The Apostle Paul taught us that God’s will is “good, pleasing and perfect.” (Romans 12:2). If that is true, and I believe it is, then how can we go wrong?! So what decisions are you facing today? Ask God for His direction. Lean on His Holy Spirit to guide you. (Ephesians 5:18b). Trust Him!
