Lost people matter to God
With GPS available on our smart phones, it is not easy to get lost these days. You would really have to work at it - to be out of battery, "out of service" or using an old flip phone. I think GPS on our smart phones is so cool because it has made finding our way so easy. We can just jump in the car and roll, with no fear of getting lost.
Jesus was very concerned about "lost" people. In a very important conversation captured in Luke 15 with "sinners and tax collectors", along with the religious "elite" listening in, Jesus offered three parables illustrating how much lost people matter to God. Jesus talked about the lost sheep, the lost coin and the lost son. In each of the stories there is no doubt that what was lost was very valuable to the person searching. Jesus wanted to make sure that we understand how much lost people matter to God!
At Watermark, we know that lost people matter dearly to God; and because they matter to Him, they must matter to us! We take reaching out to those who are lost - far from God - very seriously. We help those who are lost find the way! 6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6. There are many in our sphere of influence who are lost and searching... they are disillusioned, disconnected, disassociated, disheartened, discouraged... Jesus came to "seek and save the lost". Luke 19:10. He called his disciples to "fish for people!" Matthew 4:19
You know lost people. You may even be a lost person. Lost people matter to God! He wants a relationship with them. He offers love, hope, salvation and leadership through Jesus Christ! I am praying that as we open the doors to our new home very soon, that many who are lost would make their way to Watermark.
